Alnäsaträsk
Alnäsa Träsk, covering 46 hectares, is one of Fårö's largest lakes. The lake is located a few hundred meters north of Fårövägen near Alnäsaviken and is a nutrient-rich and shallow lake with abundant reed and bulrush vegetation.
The lake is considered one of Gotland's best birdwatching spots. It is home to breeding species such as the Eurasian bittern, crane, black-headed gull, little gull, marsh harrier, and black-necked grebe.
The best view can be had from the meadows on the eastern side of the lake. Thanks to grazing on the meadows, there is a rich flora with several orchid species.
Directions
The lake is located a couple of kilometers north of Fårö Church. The easiest way is to head towards Alnäsaviken, where there are signs. Take road 148 to Fårösund, then a ferry to Fårö.
